Why the FoodSaver V2840 will Rock Your World

To call the FoodSaver V2840 Advanced Design a modern marvel in housewares is an injustice to the brilliant scientists at Food Saver Laboratories. Normally I don’t break for housewares, but for the FoodSaver Advanced, I make an exception.

A vacuum sealer by design, it actually acts as two devices: a vacuum sealer AND a potato chip/cereal/orea cookie bag re-sealer. This may sound trivial, but think about the number of times you’ve had to throw away leftovers because they were gross at two-days old, or had to scarf down a pack of cookies in one sitting because they will go stale after opening.

With a quality vacuum sealer that two days becomes eight days of freshness. Every cheetos bag can be resealed as if nothing happened. Cheese will last forever. You can even make your own microwavable frozen food!! (‘breakfast burritos’).

“Truly this remarkable machine must cost a fortune!” you say. Well, kinda – at $150 it ain’t cheap, but definitely worth it for a mom or spouse or YOU.

It’s an investment in yourself, my friend, so don’t poo-poo it.

How to Bake Bacon

For Joel Davis

An easy, splatter-free way to cook bacon evenly is to bake rather than fry it. Line a baking pan with foil and lay down the strips. Bake at 400ยบ F for 10 to 15 minutes. (Thick-sliced bacon takes 5 minutes longer.) There’s no need to turn the slices.

From Real Simple.
